Medical Grade Chemical Peels

Medical Grade Chemical Peels

Alpharetta and Roswell aesthetic specialist doctor, Naima Cheema MD, offers several different chemical peels based on your skin needs to achieve a healthy, youthful glow.

What are chemical peels?

Chemical peels are our signature procedure for face and body, offered and performed by Dr. Naima Cheema. In this revolutionary procedure, a chemical solution is used to exfoliate and eventually peel off the skin cells. The end result is a smooth fresh looking skin with a healthy glow.

What are chemical peels used for?

Aging is a complex process. Several different factors are involved in skin aging. The aging manifest itself as pigmented lesions, fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. Many of these conditions can be treated with medical grade chemical peels.

Acne and acne scars pose not only a medical and cosmetic problem but also impose negative effects on personal confidence and self-image. Our medical grade chemical peels help improve acne and acne scars.

What type of chemical peel is suitable for me?

There are several different types of chemical peels performed by Dr. Naima Cheema. We believe that each patient has unique needs when it comes to the skin, hence, we customize our treatments to meet the expectations of our patients. Usually, this involves skillfully combining different peeling agents.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids are found in nature. Glycolic acid is extracted from sugar cane and lactic acid from the sour milk. They are used to treat fine wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, areas of dryness and acne. Glycolic acid and lactic acid peels are also a great option for sensitive skin. These chemical peels can be safely used in all skin types including the ethnic skin.

Beta Hydroxy Acids like salicylic acid is very useful in the treatment of acne, oily skin, and enlarged pores. It has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and fungicidal properties. This makes it an excellent choice for the treatment of acne. Several studies have shown that salicylic acid peels can be safely used in all skin types including the ethnic skin.

Trichloroacetic Acid is the standard peel against which other peels are measured. It is very useful for the treatment of pigmented lesions, melasma, and photodamage. It can be used as a superficial chemical peel or medium depth chemical peel. TCA (trichloroacetic acid) can be safely combined with other peeling agents to enhance the efficacy of peel.

Dr. Naima Cheema uses combination chemical peels according to patient’s skin type and condition to achieve optimal results without any complications.

What is the difference between chemical peel done at the spa and at Nexclin Medicine?

The spa will provide a spa grade peel that uses a mild peeling agent to provide a pleasant experience to the client. These mild peeling agents are not very effective. Dr. Naima Cheema uses medical grade chemical peeling agents that are stronger than the spa peels and are used to correct the problems of the skin.

How long before I see the results?

You will notice a visible difference in the tone and texture of skin after the first peel. We usually recommend four to six sessions depending on the skin condition to achieve the desired results. We usually combine this therapy with PRP and micro-needling.
